Ms. Vicki J. Alston is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She serves as the Executive Director of the Tri City Housing Authority in Woodland, Georgia. Where she been providing leadership for 67 public housing families in Talbotton, Woodland and Woodbury, Georgia for the last 26 years since her retirement from the United States Army after 22 years of service on August 1, 2000, as a First Sergeant. during her military career, Rev. Alston served in every leadership position from Squad Leader through First Sergeant with a career field of Personnel, Human Resource Management. She is a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm serving as the only female on the advance party with the 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) out of Fort Riley Kansas in 1991. Her assignments include Fort Jackson, SC, Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN, Bad Kreuznach, Germany, two tours in Republic of Korea, two assignments to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Riley, Kansas and finally retiring at Fort Benning, Georgia.
She is a graduate of the Basis Noncommissioned Officer Academy, the Advanced Noncommissioned officer Academy and the First Sergeant Course. Her civilian education includes an Associate of Science from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Upper Iowa University in Iowa and two Masters of Science degrees from Troy State University in Alabama, one in Business Management and the other in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She was a Doctoral candidate at Argosy University specializing in Pastoral Counseling.
Her military awards include the Joint Service Meritorious Service Medal, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, the Good Conduct Medal (sixth award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3; the Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 3. Her Campaigns include the Defense of Saudi Arabia, Liberation and Defense of Kuwait, and the Southwest Asia Cease Fire.
Ms. Alston was licensed to preach on November 9, 1998, and is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She served as Pastor for the fine people of Geneva Circuit in Geneva in Junction City, Georgia from 2003-2005, Bethel AME Church in Cusseta, Georgia 2006-2009; Payne Chapel AME in Cuthbert, Georgia in 2010; Georgetown Circuit AME Churches in 2015-2016; Allen Temple AME Church in Cordele 2016-2022. She is now the Pastor Grant Chapel AME Church in Columbus, Georgia (June 2022) and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kingdom of God Christian Center, (KOGCC) Inc. that was established in October 2007 where she is licensed by the State of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA) and the American Chaplains Association. She is a former chaplain of the Samuel G. Cooke American Legion Post 267 and is now a member of the Eddie L Roberts, American Legion, Post 333, in Columbus, Georgia.
Ms. Alston was married to the late CSM (Ret) Marvin N. Alston Jr. (April 1, 2026). They have two adult sons Marcus and Tacoma, an adult daughter, Daniela, and five grandsons; one granddaughter, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter Rev. Alston currently resides in Columbus, Georgia.
