Tri-City Housing Authority is a 66 Apartment Public Housing Agency that consist of 20 apartments in Talbotton, Georgia; 16 Apartments in Woodland, Georgia; 18 Apartments in Talbot County; and 12 Apartments in Woodbury, Georgia. The agency spans two neighboring Counties of Meriwether and Talbot.
The Housing Authority began as three (3) separate entities, the Housing Authority of the City of Woodland, the Housing Authority of the City of Talbotton and Housing Authority of the City of Woodbury. Tri-City Housing Authority participates in the Public Housing program under the auspices of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Housing Authority has undergone two consolidations, the first was to consolidate all of Talbot County public housing to the Consolidated Housing Authority of TalbotCounty and a second consolidation to the Tri-City Housing Authoritylater that includes the Housing Authority of the City of Woodbury. All the Housing Authorities from Talbot County were built in 1964-1966 while Meriwether County was built in 1968.
The Tri-City Housing Authority Board of Commissioners are the governing body and its board consist of seven (7) members (2) of which are residential member from both Talbot and Meriwether Counties; One (1 ) board seat belongs to City of Woodland;one (1) board seats belong to City of Talbotton; two (2) board seat to Talbot County and one (1) board seat to Woodbury. The Tri-City Housing Authority is well maintained with up to date energy efficient Central Heating and Air Conditioning, modern appliances and fixtures and other energy efficiencies.
